Self discovery

“Expand the mind body and spirit through the limitless possibilities that exist all around us as we walk and explore ourselves through the natural world.
Finding ways to see ourselves in a new way that sheds light on how we interact with the world around and with each other.
Cultivate hope as we learn to speak and listen in new ways and to understand and accept the diversity that must exist internally and externally.
Using all of our senses to dig deep, tasting the mystery and breathing our dreams real.”

SEEKING HEALTH:

Finding Balance

Woape is a therapeutic outdoor wilderness classroom that gives individuals the opportunity to learn about themselves and others through meaningful experience and activities.

Ecology and sustainability are key words in today’s global community. Woape focuses on moving attention toward questions that ask “How can we work together to make a difference for the generations now and those to follow?” Classrooms integrate core self discovery and awareness through natural building techniques, environmental awareness and discovery, natural gardening and cultivation techniques, service projects and community outreach. Our work focuses on breaking through generational, economic, and social barriers.

The participation and integration of each activity becomes the model for therapy, bringing the client into a larger wholeness and a richer self-understanding.

If you choose to explore this site further, we will outline some key elements of our programs. The philosophies we base our programs on are contained in the first four buttons to the right. Hopefully they will help to explain the key foundations that are the base of our programs. They include culture, environment, occupation and self.

We challenge you to dream of a world that lives and grows in balance and harmony; a world that instills hope in all people!
